Best advanced settings for brass?

Postby JackSON » Tue Nov 08, 2005 10:51 pm

Hi... new here.

Long time Wave Repair user. Getting sick of manually removing clicks. Doing tests of various automatic declickers, especially on passages heavy on brass, which seem to give the most problems in my experience.

Are there any suggestions for the advanced settings in the Auto-Scan Options box? A typical LP for me would be a Nigerian highlife, Congolese rumba or any other LP from Africa or the Caribbean.

Thanks,

Welcome.

Yes, brass can be difficult to correct as the waveform of some instruments resembles that of clicks.

I'd advise setting the main threshold control to 2 (or 3 maximum) and turning up the AGC setting to near maximum) This should help prevent the false positives, but you may find it misses some genuine clicks. In this case you'll need to manually deal with them - Do this either by:

1. marking a block to contain the click and then superoscanning, or

2. inserting a manual corection over ht click.

I hope this helps.

Instructions for Detector Advance Settings?

Postby thorn10 » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:34 pm

Derek,

Are there any instructions written for the click detection advance settings? I couldn't find any overview for these settings in the user manual.

Thanks ahead.
