I just upgraded from v2.4 (!) to 3.1r1. The save as dialog box has changed dramatically and the save entire wav file option is gone.

Is it really gone gone or is that option still there but somehere where I can't find it?

The 'save to a single file' is no longer an explicit option. However, this is now automatically invoked whenever the input file has not been split into separate tracks. In order to ensure this you simply need to set the 'track detection threshold' to 0 (off). You can do this in Auto-Scan Options before you load a file; or if a file is already loaded, you can use the Waveform - Re-scan Tracks command.

The explicit option was taken out because it was confusing some users especially when there was only a single track being processed.

OK

I understand. I just have to merge all the tracks if I want one wav file...

It's a lot better than having to re-install 2.4 whenever I wanted to do it! ;)

Just to clarify what Derek said. You don't have to "actively" merge the tracks, the file is one long file already if you set the detection to zero.
