end of track marker doesn't reflect "cuts"

Postby citguy » Tue Feb 08, 2005 5:21 pm

I have been trying to edit a "raw" 86 minute track down to close to 80 minutes so it will fit on a cd. I realize I can fudge a minute or two over the 80 minute limit but want to get as close as possible. I noticed that after using "cut and splice", the new "shortened" file length is not reflected in the "end of file" marker on the right hand menu of tracks. Am I missing something or do I have to "save" the edited track and reopen it which does show the new length?

I don't quite understand what you're describing. In particular, what do you mean by the 'end of file marker'? I can't seem to get a condition where a marker shows the wrong time after a cut & splice.

Yes. As I thought. I expected the "cursor position" time to reflect the "cut and splice" instantly as I worked but I have to reclick the end of track marker on the right to have the new track length register. Thanks.
