I'm excited to hear you're planning on updating wavcor's capabilities, Derek, especially now since I've been making moves in the same direction, including a new OS (winxp - finally!

), dual core processor, and a 1TB drive - large enough for a few records, at least.
Until the playback devices catch up, most of us will still be saddled with 16/44 playback equipment, and I'm wondering how you're planning on addressing the downconversion when outputting the wav files. In reading how musicians are self publishing their works, I understand that bit reduction is a relatively simple matter of truncating the least significant bits, and that the tricky part involves avoiding alias artifacts when reducing the sampling rate. For these reasons it is recommended that 24/16 be used when recording.
I'm curious to know how you plan on dealing with the problem of aliasing, and if wavcor's new recording capabilities will include 24/16?
Regards,
Glenn
